Race Rules

Race Rules:

  •         No crews will be permitted.  Individual racers may choose to have a drop bag; however, we are not responsible for drop bags that are lost or stolen, those are the primary responsibility of the individual runners.  Water, Coke, Gatorade, some salty snacks, some sweet snacks, and light first aid (bandages, etc.) will be provided at the aid stations located along the race course, approximately 4K apart.
  •         I hope that it goes without saying, but no strollers, skates, pets, or anything else on the trails.
  •         This race is almost entirely single track.  Consequently, we will have to depend on runner courtesy at times.  Please allow faster runners to pass.  Runners returning have the right of way, let them pass if you are still heading out.
  •         This race is being run on trails.  You will need to be careful.  We are planning access routes to the trail in the event of an emergency, but in the end we have to rely on the runners to use common sense and know their limits.
  •         No pacers.
  •         Bandits will never, ever be permitted to participate in a Move Outdoors event again.  In addition, we will do everything in our power to get the word out to prevent them from participating in as many events as possible.

Spectators and Supporters

While no crews are permitted, there are a number of access points to the trail that are located near parking lots.  If spectators, family, friends, etc. would like to be present to cheer the racers on, they can watch and do so from these parking lots.

Hotels and Travel

The
race is north of Houston
off of US-59. The best bet for a hotel room is to stay in a hotel in
Kingwood, Texas
. I would suggest flying into Bush Intercontinental, if possible, because
it is in North Houston , near Kingwood.
If you fly into Hobby, it will be at least a 40 minute drive to Kingwood.
Another hotel option is the Best Western Cleveland Inn & Suites

708
Highway 59 S
Cleveland, TX
77327
(281) 659-2700

Late Registration

If you have not registered for the race by the week prior to the race, we we will not be able to guarantee you will recieve a race shirt, as these must be pre-ordered a week in advance.

Awards and Giveaways

Each participant will receive a climalite type shirt and other goodies in their
race bag. Upon completion of the race, each finisher will also receive a
finisher’s prize.

Awards will be given to the top overall male and female finisher for each distance. Also, the top three male and female finishers in each age group (1-14, 15-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51+) will receive awards.

We will have a post-race meal available for the racers as they finish their run.

Prizes will be given away based on race number during the awards ceremony, but
racers must be present to win. There will be separate awards ceremony
times for each of the categories.

Parking is available throughout the recreation area.
